Taisir El-Souessi is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. She completed a post-graduate certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Appalachian State University in 2012 and became a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist in 2015.
Her work experience with clients includes wilderness therapy, school-based outpatient therapy with elementary age students and their families, inpatient therapy and stabilization for a behavioral health facility with adults and adolescents, intensive in-home specialist for a community based treatment service with children and adolescents, individual and group counseling for adolescent females at a private school, and family counseling utilizing Multi-Systemic Family Therapy with court-referred adolescents. She has also volunteered in various areas such as literacy, domestic violence shelters, hospice, animal shelters, and women’s centers.
Her clinical specialties include; communication, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief work, attention/behavioral issues and therapy through experiential art. Taisir has been a member of the SUWS clinical team since 2012. She believes that the strength of the SUWS philosophy is in valuing the individual and the ability to grow and change.
