Stacia Thompson

Stacia Thompson, MSW, LCSW

Seasons Therapist

Stacia began her career as a therapist after being a teacher, where she found she was more enthusiastic about spending time with youth during recess, listening to their problems than she was about teaching math. Stacia completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and continues studies in trauma and object relations theory (which focuses on interpersonal relationships).

Prior to becoming a wilderness therapist, Stacia spent years working in Intensive In-home therapy and as a School-based therapist. Others describe her as: hardworking, compassionate, and diplomatic. One of her client families reflected her essence as: “Seeker of all things beautiful.”

Outside of work, she enjoys playing rugby, gardening, and writing poetry.

Back to All Staff

The wilderness therapy offered at SUWS was the dynamic solution needed to help my son with his behavioral issues. When my son left SUWS, he was completely changed for the better and also created new bonds and unforgettable memories! I can't recommend SUWS enough for anyone in a similar situation!
