Primary Therapist for Luna/Phoenix Group (girl identifying students ages 14-17)
Mary is dually licensed in NC as a licensed Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Supervisor and holds a Ph.D. in Psychology. Her approach to therapy is relationship-focused and Trauma and Resiliency informed. She is a PATH Intl. certified therapeutic riding instructor and a certified trainer in the Community Resiliency Model (CRM) through the Trauma Resource Institute. Mary is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting Trauma Treatment Techniques, Jungian Psychodynamic Theory and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. She completed her doctorate in Depth Psychology in 2017. Mary practices and teaches relationship principles for connection and attunement.
Mary has been working outdoors and experientially since 2000 in Atlanta, GA and since 2006 in the Asheville, NC area. “I truly believe in experiential forms of therapy and the transformative impact healthy relationships, animals, and nature have on us. Nature and our sentient companions offer us so much comfort and peace if we are willing to accept the wisdom these experiences bring us.”
