Meet Our Clinical Staff

Maggi Waldroup, LPN

Field Medic

Maggi grew up in Old Fort, NC and has remained in the area because she loves the small town life.  She earned her credentials as a licensed practical nurse and soon thereafter found her passion for working with adolescents.  Her previous employment with Mission Hospital`s McDowell Pediatrics allowed her to earn valuable experience with adolescent treatment that helped with her transition to the role of Medical Coordinator at SUWS.  Maggi routinely works with the Medical Team to provide premier healthcare to our SUWS students by assessing their day-to-day medical needs.  Maggi’s role at SUWS quickly allowed her to see the positive effect that the wilderness experience can have on adolescents.

Maggi’s love for the outdoors leads her to spend her free time hiking, camping, rock climbing, fishing, and boating with her two dogs Sampson and Ella.

The wilderness therapy offered at SUWS was the dynamic solution needed to help my son with his behavioral issues. When my son left SUWS, he was completely changed for the better and also created new bonds and unforgettable memories! I can't recommend SUWS enough for anyone in a similar situation!
